WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College Athletic Department is
pleased to announce Andy Hahn as the new Varsity
Cross Country Head Coach. Hahn fills the vacancy left after
Mark Beens resigned following the season for
personal reasons.
Hahn, who is a health and physical education teacher at Essex
District High School, comes to St. Clair with an outstanding
background in cross country along with track and field from the
University of Windsor as both an athlete and coach. While
earning his Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Sport Management along
with his Bachelor of Education in Intermediate/Senior Secondary
Physical Education from the University of Windsor he was a two-time
Canadian National team member in Cross Country and Road Racing,
four-time CIS All-Canadian in Cross Country/Track and Field, NAIA
All-American in Track and Field, five-time All-OUA Conference Cross
Country/Track and Field and four-time Track and Field Team
Captain.
As a coach Hahn has decorated Essex District High School with eight
WECSAA Team Titles, three SWOSSAA titles and one OFSAA title along
with seven OFSAA individual medals. He has also helped coach the
University of Windsor with nine conference team titles, five
national team titles, three National Individual Champions and
fifteen CIS Individual All-Canadians. As a board member and
organizer with the Windsor Legion Track and Field Club Hahn has
coached four athletes on the Canadian National Team in both Cross
Country and Track and Field.
Hahn has achieved NCCP Level Three Technical and Practical for
Track and Field in Middle Distance, Distance and Cross Country and
was part of the organizing committee with the Pan Am Junior Track
and Field Championships that Windsor hosted in 2005.
Commented St. Clair College Athletic Coordinator Ted
Beale, “Andy is one of the most decorated athletes
this community has ever produced in distance running and that
success moved forward into his coaching career at the club,
university and high school levels. Aside from having the
technical background he is a very engaging person who our St. Clair
student-athletes will enjoy competing for as we build a team for
the future to compete provincially and nationally. I have no
doubt that Andy will be a fine coach at St. Clair and create a
tremendous profile for our program.”
