FANSHAWE MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM WINS CCAA SILVER MEDAL

LONDON, Ont. - On Saturday afternoon at Collège Lionel-Groulx in Sainte-Thérèse, Que., the OCAA champion Fanshawe cross country teams competed at the CCAA National Championship.

The men's team won the CCAA silver medal with a score of 47, eight points back of Sherbrooke College. The lead runner for the Falcons was Chris Caddey (Dorchester) who finished ninth overall in the eight kilometre race, with a time of 26:13.

Closely behind him were Fanshawe's Jordan Kadlecik (Grand Bend), Alastair Thompson (London) and Justin Attfield (Aylmer) who finished 10th, 12th and 17th, respectively. Caddey and Kadlecik were named CCAA All-Canadians. This is the 13th consecutive year that the Falcons men's cross country program has been on the CCAA national medal podium.

Fanshawe's top female runner, Janelle Hanna (Peterborough) completed the six kilometre women's race in 22:21, good for sixth place in Canada. She was the top OCAA runner and was also named a CCAA All-Canadian. Falcons Sammi-Jo Burch (Strathroy), Hannah Carley (Newmarket) and Breah Gordon (St. Thomas) rounded out the women's team, who finished in fifth place.
