GEORGIAN CROSS COUNTRY TEAM WRAPS UP SEASON AT NATIONALS

KING CITY, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's cross country team took part in their final event of the season at the 2018 CCAA Cross Country National Championships hosted by Seneca College in King City, Ont.

The event brought together 236 cross country runners from schools across Canada.

Georgian's men's team had a good showing at the event finishing in 16th place as a group.

Michael MacInnes (Barrie) led the way for the Grizzlies finishing the eight kilometre race in a time of 29:56 to finish in 32nd place.

Jeffrey Scott (Newmarket) wasn't far behind with a time of 30:44 to finish in 54th place overall.

Tyler Thomson (Bracebridge) finished in 83rd overall, William Britton (Ottawa) finished in 98th, Nelvin Sen (India) finished in 114th and David Sun (China) finished in 115th to round out Georgian's male runners.

In the women's race Georgian had two individual runners at the event.

Kaitlyn L'Abbe (Ottawa) continued her fine season finishing the six kilometre track in a time of 25:46 which was good for 27th overall. Teammate Meaghan Evon (Barrie) finished in 57th place with a time of 27:06.

The event wrapped up a solid year of competition for the Grizzlies which included qualifying for nationals and an early season win by L'Abbe at the Seneca Invitational who also had a Top 10 finish at the provincial championships.
