In the first-ever Sault women's outdoor soccer match in OCAA against Centennial on Sept. 8, Gazankas was able to secure the first win for the program scoring two pivotal goals. The Cougars were down 2-1 in the second half when Gazankas found the back of the net to tie up the match. She then scored the winning goal on an exciting penalty kick with only a few minutes remaining in the second half. The Cougars held on to win 3-2 in their home opener in their first-ever outdoor soccer league match. Sault will aim for its first road victory this weekend in Algonquin and St. Lawrence.
