Hearns played in four games for the Durham Lords over the weekend, batting 12-for-16 for a .750 average, recording nine RBI and eight runs scored. Hearns was a perfect 10-for-10 at the plate in a pair of games on Sept. 11 against Seneca and Mohawk, as the defending OCAA champions won both contests to begin the 2022 regular season with a 3-1 record. Hearns has already surpassed the 11 hits in 16 games the second-year catcher and utility player recorded last season. Hearns was recognized as an OCAA Championship All-Star in 2021.
