Colton Kalkanis reached both the provincial and national podiums in his two seasons with the Georgian Grizzlies golf program. In his rookie season of 2012, Colton led wire-to-wire to win the OCAA championship by two strokes, shooting a three-over par 213 at the 54 hole tournament played at the Roseland Golf & Curling Club in Windsor.

Colton then achieved a feat no other OCAA male student-athlete had accomplished, winning both the OCAA and CCAA gold medals the same season. He shot a one-under 71 on the final day of competition at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club to card a three-day total of one-over 217.

The following year, Colton returned to provincials and was part of a two-way tie for the silver medal, shooting a three-under 69 in the final round for a three-day total of one-under 215 at the Paris Grand Country Club.

Colton still had another historical feat up his sleeve, however, becoming the first student-athlete to repeat as national champion. He shot back-to-back rounds of 68 before a final round of 65 for a three-day total of 201, fifteen strokes under par. Colton won the competition played at the Royal Quebec Golf Club in Boischatel, Que., easily by 10 strokes.

Colton is a two-time CCAA All-Canadian, a two-time CCAA Championship All-Star team member, a two-time OCAA Men's All-Ontario Team member, a two-time Georgian Male Athlete of the Year and a 2013-14 CCAA Academic All-Canadian.
