Susan McLellan held the position of Supervisor of Athletics for Conestoga College for eight years and committed volunteer time to the OCAA in four of those years. She served one term on the OCAA Executive Committee as a Vice President from 1977-78 to 1978-79.

McLellan's obvious love of women's volleyball was apparent through her efforts as West Region women's volleyball Convenor in 1976-77 and 1981-82 and as Senior Convenor for women's volleyball in 1977-78 and 1981-82.

McLellan coached the Conestoga Condors women's volleyball team to a gold medal in 1979-80, the first-ever gold medal for a women's program at Conestoga. She was inducted into the Conestoga College Recreation and Athletics Hall of Fame in 1996 and was honoured by the OCAA with the presentation of a Shield Award in 1987.
