Ray Sarkis has been part of the Niagara College community for 40 years. During his time at Niagara, Ray has initiated many projects, including the United Way Campaign Charity Basketball Game between Niagara and Brock University; the Corporate Athletic Advertising Program which generated revenues for Athletic Scholarships since its inception; the Varsity Coaches and Intercollegiate Guidelines, for the purpose of educating coaches and student athletes on College, OCAA and CCAA policies and procedures; and the Niagara Knights Hall of Fame, assuming the role of administrator.

Ray has also been heavily involved with both the OCAA and CCAA during his tenure. He served as the OCAA Men's Volleyball Senior Convenor from 1996 to 2002, and on the OCAA Marketing Committee from 1999 to 2001 before joining the then Executive Committee as OCAA 1st Vice President, OCAA President and OCAA Past-President. Ray also served as the chair of the Constitution Committee, Ways and Means Committee, and Constitution Committee.

At the national level, Ray served as the CCAA Vice President, Programs from 2009 to 2011. He has been the CCAA Men's Volleyball Convenor from 2011 to 2019.
