Linda Turcotte is a proud alumnus of Canadore. She was twice honoured as the Canadore Athletics Female Athlete of the Year. Linda was inducted into the OCAA Hall of Fame in 2013 as part of the Women's Hockey All-Millennium team. Linda was inducted into the OCAA Hall of Fame in 2013 as part of the Women's Hockey All-Millennium team. Linda is a lifelong advocate for women in sport and fitness. She worked tirelessly to increase female participation in sport at Canadore and across the region.

Linda carried her passion for sport and Canadore College throughout her lengthy career beginning as a Gym Technician and moving up the ranks to Athletic Director for more than 20 years. During that time, she saw several new additions to the athletic programs and was integral in the renewal of the gymnasium and the new fitness facility at Canadore. Linda also led the renewal of the brand evolution from the Canadore Kittens to the Canadore Panthers.

Linda was a respected leader around the OCAA table, often representing the unique challenges of the OCAA northern members. Linda served as the Convenor for Women's Hockey, was an active member of the Marketing Committee for several years, helping to develop the OFSAA/OCAA promotional booths; was a prominent member and leader of the Women's Sport Development Committee; and served on the OCAA Executive from 2001-05 (four years) as VP Marketing and Sport Development. Linda was also well respected around the OCAA for her hosting of several OCAA championships. As her portfolio at Canadore expanded to include Student Success Services and the Campus Health Centre, Linda accepted the role of the OCAA representative to the CCSS.

Linda's contribution to the OCAA also included service on the Finance Committee, Marketing Committee, Sweat Magazine Sub-Committee, Policies and Procedures Committee and the Eligibility Committee. Several of these committees were very time consuming and fulfilling these obligations as a member from the north required an extra effort from which the OCAA has greatly benefitted.
