SUDBURY - No. 1 Humber men's volleyball remains undefeated, beginning its two-game weekend with a straight sweep of the Boréal Viperès (2-13, 9th West) on Feb 8. The final set scores were 25-14, 25-17, 25-18.

Xavier Reid got the Hawks going right away, earning one of the first points of the match by nailing down a kill. Jaydon Milne and Maximum Crowder added on with unreturnable swings that gave Humber aggressive leads in the opening sets. Blocks by Colin Skanes gave the Boréal Viperès little room to convert the ball aggressively, allowing the Hawks to fly to victory at 25-14 and 25-17.

Christopher Bowen maintained Humber's momentum as they entered the third, with a three-point service run. Explosive kills by Jaydon Milne and Xavier Reid brought the Hawks to a six-point lead, pushing the Viperès into a timeout.  Rookie Loreto Cerasuolo held down Humber's defence throughout the night, making it easy for the team to keep a solid lead. Colin Skanes finished the game off at 25-18, with a quick kill from the middle.

Xavier Reid and Jaydon Milne are tied as lead scorers for the Hawks at nine points apiece. The outside hitters earned seven kills and two aces, and five kills and four aces respectively.
