No. 1 Men's Soccer end road swing with six points

SARNIA – Top-ranked Humber men's soccer (3-0, 1st West) extended its win streak to eight consecutive matches, concluding its southwest Ontario trip with six points. The Hawks beat No. 5 St. Clair (1-1, 6th West) and Lambton (1-2, 7th West) over the weekend.

Humber at St. Clair, W 5-2

Playing against the fifth-ranked team in the country, the Hawks knew they would be in a battle against the Saints on their home field.

In the 21st minute, Osman Hussein found Abdul-Azeez Babawale at the top of the box. Babawale curled a banger off of his left foot, finding the top corner for his first tally of the season. Less than five minutes later, Kofi Awuah hit a shot into the box that went off a Saints defender, collecting his first tally as a Humber Hawk.

The Saints responded in the 35th minute when a quick in-bounds caught the Hawks off guard, cutting Humber's lead in half, 2-1.

Tempers flared before the break, as Humber controlled much of the play in the opening half and has won 13 of the last 14 meetings against the Saints.

The Hawks extended their lead when Damion Kaye beat his defender and made a pass to a streaking Kadell Thomas for his first career goal for the Hawks. Thomas beat the last defender and buried his shot over the diving Saints goalie.

A foul in the box on a free kick awarded St. Clair a penalty, Grahovac scored his second goal of the match, trimming Humber's lead to one.

Awarded a corner kick in the 79th minute, Luca Uccello made a short pass to Noah Macintyre, who curled a cross into the box, allowing Alex Meczarski to tap in his first tally of the season. Five minutes later, Uccello was taken down in the box and made no mistake at the line, recording his second of the season.

Holger Xhameta made five saves in the match, earning his second win of the season.

Humber at Lambton, W, 4-0

Looking to keep Humber's high-octane off of the board, the Lions played a defensive format. In a first half that saw the Hawks dominate possession and record ten shots – seven on net – the match was tied after 45 minutes of play.

It wasn't until the 60th minute when Danny Medeiros recorded his first career goal, finally breaking the tie. No longer able to play defensively, the Hawks were able to take advantage and tack on three more goals from Wahiz Rahimi, Damion Kaye and Isaiah Noel.

Ezequiel Carrasco made two saves to earn his third career win and record Humber's first clean sheet of the season.
