HUSKIES WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALL TO DURHAM

The George Brown women's basketball team (1-1) fell to the undefeated Durham Lords (3-0) 74-59 on Tuesday night (Nov 1).
 
The Huskies entered the game after defeating the Seneca Sting at George Brown's home opener on October 28 by a score of 54-48, and were looking to ride that momentum into Oshawa as they played the Durham Lords now in their home opener. 
 
The Huskies trailed after the first quarter 18-16, but quickly turned things around in the second quarter outscoring the Lords 21-17 to go into halftime with a two-point advantage of 37-35. The Lords came out in the second half holding the Huskies to just 22 points while racking up 39 to take the game by a final score of 74-59 and remain undefeated.  
 
Leading the way in scoring for the Huskies was Jordyn Dawkins (1st Year) with 23 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Kiara Graham (1st Year) added 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals. Durham's Brianna Morrison led all scorers with 28 points, nine steals, four assists and seven rebounds.  
 
UP NEXT: The Huskies will look to bounce back from this loss when they play the Algonquin Wolves (2-0) at the Casa Loma Athletic Centre at 6 pm on Friday November 11, 2022.
