WOMEN'S BASKETALL FINISH REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS TO COLTS
Eden Young had a season-high 15 points in the regular season finale on Saturday against the Centennial Colts.
The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team played their final game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon when they travelled to face the Centennial Colts in Scarborough, ON.
Georgian battled hard but early shooting woes cost the Grizzlies as they fell 50-32 to Centennial.
The Grizzlies were only able to muster up 11 first half points and while they played well in the second half the deficit was too much to overcome.
Eden Young (Tottenham) had a season high 15 points in her final regular season game for Georgian. The fifth year veteran is in her final season as she will be graduating at the end of the year.
Teammate Chelsey Lees (Elliot Lake) had seven points and 11 rebounds for Georgian.
The Grizzlies finish the season with a 3-14 record and are in seventh place in the OCAA east division standings.
Georgian has qualified for the playoffs and will take on the OCAA west division's second placed team the Humber Hawks next Friday, Feb. 22. The game will be hosted by Humber at a neutral site at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
The winner of the match-up will move onto play in the 2019 belairdirect OCAA Women's Basketball Championship hosted by St. Lawrence College from Feb. 28 to Mar. 2 in Kingston, ON.
