Men's volleyball open league play with sweep of Mohawk

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball team (2-3, 1-0 OCAA) got off a strong start in their league schedule, sweeping the defending champions from Mohawk (25-12, 25-21, 25-19).

"We served pretty tough which did lead to a few more errors than I was hoping for, but we were able to side-out very well throughout the match," head coach Frank Pento said. "The guys believed in the game plan and were able to execute. It was nice to finally start the season, and to begin with a win is great. We are going to get back to work on Monday and prepare for our game against Redeemer next Saturday. We are playing in their gym which is always a wild experience."

Andrew Cianci led the club with 11 points (nine kills, one ace, one block) while hitting .615.

Sheridan has a week off before a travelling to Redeemer on Nov. 4 (3pm).
