Lords clinch third ahead of OCAA championship

| Box Score 2 NORTH YORK, Ont. - The Durham College men's baseball team picked up a pair of wins on Tuesday evening in two makeup games from previously postponed matches, clinching third place in the OCAA regular season standings.

The Lords were first granted a 2-0 win over the George Brown Huskies after the originally suspended match from earlier in the season was officially declared complete, handing Durham the five inning victory.

DC then shifted their attention to a weather postponed match versus the Seneca Sting, where they would capture a 7-4 win in a tightly contested match with championship seeding on the line. The Lords were able to take advantage of six runs scored in the third and fourth innings to pull ahead and hold on to the road season finale victory.

Attention will now shift back to Kinsmen Stadium as Durham College gets set to welcome the four best teams from the province for the 2019 OCAA baseball championship, presented by belairdirect. Following an awards banquet on Thursday, Oct. 17, action will commence on Friday, Oct. 18 with the first place Humber Hawks taking on the fourth place Seneca Sting at 11 a.m., followed by the third place Lords challenging the second place St. Clair Saints at 1:30 p.m.

Every game of the OCAA baseball championship will be streamed on OCAA LIVE via Sport Canada TV, with live stats also available on OCAA.com.
