BELLEVILLE, Ont. – After battling back from a halftime deficit, the Durham College men's basketball team were unable to capture a victory after falling 91-87 in overtime versus the Loyalist Lancers on Tuesday night in Bellevielle.
Durham found themselves down 41-36 at the halftime break, but behind a 22 point third quarter and 25 point fourth quarter were able to force overtime with a very strong Loyalist team. Statistically the match was fairly even throughout with both teams shooting just over 45 percent from the field and seeing 14 lead changes throughout. However, the difference came in bench scoring where the Lancers were able to outscore the Lords 30-9.
Durham will remain on the road as they next head to George Brown to challenge the Huskies on Saturday, Nov. 9. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. with the game being streamed on

• Both
Fioti Mabanza (Whitby, Ont.) and
Romareo Stephenson (Markham Ont.) recorded 20 points each in the hard fought road loss, with Mabanza adding five assists offensively.
• Fellow starters
Gabriel Andre (Ottawa, Ont.) and
Nathanial Parker (Ajax, Ont.) added 19 and 12 points, respectively.
• Jeremiah Brown was a driving force for the Lancers with a game-high 32 points, while two bench players in Akim Ruot and Angelo Sarsonas added 13 and 12.
• Stephenson nearly recorded the double-double, bringing down nine rebounds, while also adding three steals defensively.
• Parker produced a well rebounded stat line, grabbing seven boards, facilitating six assists, and nabbing three steals.
• Ruot was a monster on the boards for Loyalist registering 14 rebounds, while Brown also added eight.
