LANCERS FALL TO THUNDER

The Lancers fell short of the Algonquin Thunder in a hard fought 66-46 loss on Saturday in Ottawa.

After a strong start that had the Lancers trailing only 13-10 at the end of the first quarter, the first place Thunder had an explosive second quarter that extended their lead to 31-19 at the half. The Lancers came back in the third and fourth with aggression and intensity, but were unable to overcome the defecit from the second.

First year Lancer senstation Kate Raso lead her team in scoring with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and a block while second year players Brittany Mason and Hailey Van Rossum combined for 17 points.

The Lancers travel to Kingston on Wednesday to take on the St. Lawrence Vikings for their final game of the season. With a 5-11 season record, the Lancers sits in 6th place, right below the Vikings who are currently 6-10. Both team will make playoffs regardless of the game outcome, but a win from the Lancers would move them into a higher ranking and give them a better playoff matchup.
