ETOBICOKE - Humber softball (2-0, 1st OCAA) picked up its second win of the young season with a massive victory against the Lambton Lions (0-2, 8th OCAA), 11-1.  The six-inning mercy was an entertaining one, showcasing an explosive offensive performance and shutdown defence from the Hawks. The team would string together 13 hits and ten stolen bases while only conceding one error on the evening.

The Hawks wasted no time getting on the board at Connorvale Park, scoring three runs in the first inning. Five hits accompanied Humber's offensive surge, including Hannah Koziolek's RBI triple, driving in veteran Alexis Ferreira to score Humber's first run of the game. Koziolek would go on to score on a wild pitch thrown by Lambton pitcher Brice Knight while an RBI walk from Melissa Hahnfeld would later cash Jessica MacPherson.

The top of the fourth saw MacPherson hit a two-run bomb to left-centre field. A sacrifice fly off the bat of Melissa Hanhfeld would drive in Rilee Devries, awarding Hahnfeld her second RBI of the evening. The bottom of the inning marked a historic milestone for Lambton's softball program as Holly Peters' RBI groundout would score Brooklynn Hunter for the Lions' first scoring play in team history.

The Hawks continued rolling through the two innings, scoring four more runs to put them ahead by ten.  Christina D'Angelo, who pinch hit for Hannah Koziolek, would drive in a run and later scored on an error by a Lambton. Michaela Tuck, who went 4-for-4 in the game, singled, scoring Jessica MacPherson. A sixth-inning sac-fly off the bat of Jorja Berney scored Melissa Hahnfeld, which would be Humber's final run of the game.

Right fielder Jessica MacPherson was named player of the game, going 2-for-4 in the batter's box, including a home run and three RBIs.
