Fanshawe Softball Sweeps Seneca

(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Falcons Women's Softball team moved to 10-8 on the season with two wins over Seneca on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons defeated the Sting 7-1 and 9-1 at Alumni Field.

 

In Fanshawe's game one 7-1 victory over Seneca, the winning pitcher was Ali Bergman (Embro, ON) (1-0), who recorded five strikeouts. The losing pitcher for Seneca was Chantal Gendron (0-12).

 

Nichole Erb (Monkton, ON) moved to 2-4 on the season in the second game 9-1 win. Nicole Novacich (0-4) from Seneca took the loss on the mound.

 

On the day, Samantha Fuller (Ingersoll, ON) had 5 hits in 7 at-bats, with 4 runs and 2 stolen bases. Rookies Katie Berg (Stratford, ON) and Paige Askew (London, ON) both had 3 hits for the Falcons in the doubleheader. Berg added 3 runs, 2 RBIs and 1 stolen base, while Askew recorded a single run, RBI and stolen base.

 

Fanshawe is on the road for their next games on Tuesday, October 1 against the St. Clair Saints (14-6).
