Despite a strong start that saw Mohawk Mountaineers women's volleyball get out to a 10-1 first set lead, it was the Niagara Knights who came away with the 3-0 (28-30, 22-25, 23-25) win.

The loss snapped the Mountaineers five game win streak to begin the 2022-23 season.

Sofia Spoljar (Hamilton, ON) led Mohawk with 11 kills in the loss, while Yvonne Mann (Kitchener, ON) had a 24-assist game. Anika Gatto (Coquitlam, BC) contributed 24 digs as a defensive standout.

The Mountaineers will get a couple days of rest before getting back on the court on Nov. 19 when they travel to Kitchener, ON to play the Conestoga Condors at 1 p.m.
