Box Score NORTH BAY, Ont. - The No. 4 nationally ranked Durham College women's volleyball team secured their spot in the OCAA semifinals following a straight sets victory over the Niagara Knights on the opening day of the OCAA championship, hosted by Canadore College in North Bay. Set scores for the match were 25-23, 25-21, 26-24.
The Lords entered the provincial tournament as the top seed from the east after completing their second consecutive 18-0 regular season and defeating the Sheridan Bruins in an OCAA crossover playoff match. The Knights earned their place in the quarter-final round following a fourth place finish with a 12-6 regular season record and knocking off the Georgian Grizzlies in straight sets in their crossover.Â
Durham will next face the perennial contender Humber Hawks in a semifinal showdown tomorrow evening. The Lords hold a straight sets victory over the Hawks from earlier this season at the Niagara Invitational. First serve for the Final Four matchup is scheduled for 8 p.m. with all the action being streamed on

• Durham saw three players reach double-digits points, led by OCAA east player of the year and CCAA All-Canadian
Jessica Joensen (Newcastle, Ont.) who notched 13 points from 11 kills and two service aces.

Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen, Ont.) and
Althea Boncheff (Alliston, Ont.) added 12 and 11 points respectively, with Terwillegar scoring 11 kills and one ace, while Boncheff recorded eight kills, one ace, and two blocks.
• Leading Niagara, Tamara Edwards finished the evening with a game-high 14 points from nine kills and five blocks.

• Named player of the match for DC, Lords setter
Georgi Williams (Whitby, Ont.) registered 32 assists, while adding three kills, two aces, one block, and 10 digs defensively.
• Diving all over the court, Terwillegar led the green and gold defensively with 18 total digs over the three sets.
• Knights setter Montanna Taylor tallied 30 assists, while libero Madelyn Berg recorded a game-high 22 digs.
