OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College women's basketball team ended their fall semester in style, dominating the visiting Loyalist Lancers on route to a 71-49 victory on Tuesday night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
Opening the contest with a 17-5 first quarter lead, which saw the Lords defence hold the Lancers to just 10 per cent shooting from the field, Durham never looked back. The Lords outscored, outrebounded and outperformed the Lancers in all four quarters, despite dealing with a short bench which forced Durham to an eight-woman rotation.
Lifting their record above .500 at 5-4, Durham will enter the winter break in fourth place in the OCAAÂ east division. The Lords return to conference action in the new year, welcoming the George Brown Huskies to the CRWCÂ on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
