LANCERS TAKE DOWN THE STING

The Lancers got back in the win column with a hard fought 77-69 win over the Seneca Sting at home Friday night.

Playing in front of a packed crowd for the team's annual Bell Let's Talk game, the Lancers made a statement out of the gates with a 14-2 lead in the first few minutes of the game before pushing ahead for a 24-12 lead at the end of the quarter.

In one of their best first half performances of the season, the Lancers put up an impressive 50 points to lead the game 50-33 at the half. The Sting made a run in the second half but anytime they got close, the Lancers hit a key shot to regain the mometum and get back in the drivers seat. In a true team effort, the Lancers showed a well balanced offense with 5 players contributing major points.

Second year Lancer Kate Raso led the game with an astounding, career high 28 points performance that included 9 clutch 3 pointers. Rookie player Hannah Schipper was dominant in the post, contributing big rebounds and 12 points in the win.

The Lancers face off against the Centennial Colts on Friday when they travel to Toronto.
