Mohawk Mountaineers men's soccer played a tough Humber Hawks team on Wednesday night, losing 7-0.

The Hawks tallied four in the first half and another three in the second.

Mountaineers goalkeeper Oliver Steinke (Dundas, ON) played only one half, but made four saves.

"Our team defensive shape was better. (The guys) did what we asked of them," said Mohawk head coach Jordan Brown. "Humber is talented all over the pitch. They're number one in the country for a reason."

Four games into the 2022 season, Mohawk continues to search for their first win.

"I still believe we have some individual talent," Brown said. "We need the team to come together and drive each other to a higher standard so we can get some cohesion together."

The Mountaineers will be back on the pitch on Sept. 28 when they host the Niagara Knights at Tim Hortons Field for a 6 p.m. start.
