Lords ready of OCAA championship following split with Sting

NORTH YORK, Ont. - After splitting with the Seneca Sting, earning a 12-1 win before falling 5-2, the Durham Lords men's baseball team will now host the four top OCAA competitors for the OCAA championship next weekend (Oct. 19-20) at Kinsmen Memorial Stadium in downtown Oshawa.

In the regular season finale on Friday night the Lords bats exploded for a nine run seventh inning, lifting Durham to their best offensive output of the season.

Despite jumping out to an early 1-0 lead in the second inning of game two, Durham was unable to hold onto its lead for the doubleheader sweep.

OCAA championship action will begin with the first and fourth place teams facing off at 11 a.m., followed by the second and third place teams at 1:30 p.m. All games will be played at Kinsmen Memorial Stadium with championship action streamed for fans outside the Durham region to enjoy.
