In their final road game of the season, No. 6-ranked Mountaineers women's volleyball defeated the Sheridan Bruins in three straight sets (25-11, 25-10, 25-15) for their third win in a row.

The way Mohawk played in the match is how head coach Matthew Schnarr would like to see his team play every night.

"I thought we played a complete match. Gives us a lot of confidence going into a big weekend," Schnarr said.

The ball was spread around by setter Amanda Kuiper (Woodstock, ON), who had 36 assists.

Sofia Spoljar (Hamilton, ON) had eight kills, while Katie Kalbfleisch (Barrie, ON), Rachel Vanderwal (Hamilton, ON) and Kaelyn Emslie (St. Catharines, ON) each had seven.

Irene Jaramillo Restrepo (Manizales, COL) had eight aces in the match and Emslie also had a strong serving game with seven aces.

"I think tonight was a team performance," Schnarr said. "Everyone from the court to the bench did their jobs to a T. This is the type of performance we are going to need moving forward."

The Mountaineers (6-1) will next host the Cambrian Golden Shield on Mar. 5 at 1 p.m. inside the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre.
