Saints Men’s Baseball Enjoy Home Opener Sweep

Tecumseh, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team moved their OCAA record to 7-0 with a doubleheader sweep of Centennial College (Scarborough) Friday night at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh with scores of 19-0 and 11-0. 

In the opening win the Saints pounded the Colts pitching for 16 hits over the mercy shortened five innings including an 8-run 2nd inning and a 10-run 3rd inning.  St. Clair first baseman Colin Robinson (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) added a solo home run in the 4th inning to complete the scoring for pitcher Cameron O'Reilly (Moose Jaw, SK) who gave up just one hit and a walk to go with six strikeouts.  Left fielder Austin Tilson (Windsor, ON/Sandwich) had a 3-hit game including a double adding three RBI's for the Saints while Patrick Kibble (Windsor, ON/Riverside) had a pair of doubles and two RBI's.

In game two St. Clair pitcher Jacob Rajsigl (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) threw an inspired 5-inning no hitter surrendering just three walks but struck out 8 batters in the mercy shortened game.  Tilson supported the cause again with a homerun and a double to go with four RBI's.  Brendan Renaud (Amherstburg, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) had a nice night for the Saints with a pair of doubles and an RBI.

The Saints continue the homestand Saturday hosting a doubleheader against Durham College (Oshawa) with game times of 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
