No. 12 HUSKIES ROLL THROUGH KNIGHTS

The No. 12 George Brown Huskies men's basketball team picked up their first victory over the season with a 101-76 win over the Fleming Knight (0-2) at home on Wednesday night.

NOTABLE STATS: Coming off two close losses to open up their season, the Huskies (1-2) made sure to come out flying. The team shot 50% from the field in the first half to grab a 51-27 lead into the locker room. The narrative did not change in the second half, with George Brown running away.

The keys to this game were the Huskies ability to score in the paint and rebounding. They outscored the Knights 54-18 in the paint and outrebounded by 52-28.

Third-year forward Darnell Richards played extremely well in his Huskies posting a game-high 18 points. After playing four years and being an assistant coach for the Huskies during the 2019-2020 season, fifth-year Teshayn Gayle did not lose a step by any means in his return to the court. He recorded 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal.

First-year guard Jacob Masters kept his impressive season going, dropping 15 points off the bench in just 11 minutes. For the second straight contest, second-year forward Russel Kalyango Jr., put up a double-double, this time with 13 points and 12 rebounds. In his Huskies debut, fourth-year guard Tyvell Peters went 4-for-8 from three-pointer land for 13 points.

Fourth-year guard Robert Ocampo filled up the stats sheet registering 10 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and a steal.
