LONDON, Ont. - The Durham College women's softball team swept the Fanshawe Falcons in their Sunday afternoon doubleheader to complete the perfect 4-0 start to their 2019 season.
The Lords opened the afternoon with a 6-4 Game 1 victory, before dropping the Falcons 5-3 in Game 2. The doubleheader sweep comes just 24 hours after picking up back-to-back wins over the St. Clair Saints the day before in Windsor.
DC continues their road swing to open the season, traveling to North York on Wednesday, Sept. 11 to face off with the Seneca Sting. The nighttime doubleheader will be broadcast by Seneca on
OCAA LIVEÂ with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. Â

GAME 1
• It was an impressive day offensively for first-year infielder
Sydney Redick (Alvinston, Ont.) as she knocked in four RBI, while crossing the plate twice herself, going 2-for-4 in the batter's box.
• Both veteran
Ashley Black (Waterloo, Ont.) and second-year catcher
Kaleigh MacIntyre (Guelph, Ont.) each added a single RBI.
GAME 2
•
Andrea Patrick (Whitby, Ont.) and
Alanna Stanoev (Whitby, Ont.) each registered three hits with identical 3-for-4 one RBI performances at the plate.
• Taking advantage of a strong third inning for the Lords,
Caleigh Coels (Duncan, B.C.) highlighted the teams offensive pressure with a two-run single.

GAME 1
• Dual-sport athlete
Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, Ont.) earned the win for the Lords pitching a complete game. In seven innings she struck out six, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits and one walk.
• Laura Chappell was charged with the loss for the Falcons, giving up four earned runs in five innings of work.
GAME 2
• 2019 recruit
Claire Dempsey (Port Perry, Ont.) started the second game for Durham, pitching 2.1 innings, striking out two and allowing three earned runs.
• Appearing in relief for the Lords was Black who added 4.2 shutout innings, striking out four and allowing just two hits to earn the win.
• Nicole Erb was the losing pitcher for the Falcons.
