OSHAWA, Ont. – In front of a ruckus home crowd, the Durham College men's volleyball team knocked off the Loyalist Lancers in straight sets in the Lords home opener at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre on Thursday night. Set scores were 25-15, 25-21, 25-21.
The Lords benefited from the growing chemistry of fifth-year veterans
Liam Gray (Barrie, Ont.) and
Tyler Krabi (Stouffville, Ont.) as the setter-outside hitter combo were extremely effective. Durham also saw strong service runs from a pair of first-year players in
Jason Cazes (Richmond Hill, Ont.) and
Brandon Low (Pickering, Ont.).
The night was made even more special by the results of the Durham Lords volleyball Think Pink fundraiser which saw the volleyball teams and those in attendance raise over $800 in support of a local family and their cancer treatment.
Having yet to lose a set, the men's team will be back in action next Thursday, Oct. 31 when they welcome the Seneca Sting to the CRWC. First serve for the Halloween Night contest is scheduled for 8 p.m. with the match being streamed on
OCAA LIVE.

• Fourth-year middle
Lucas Pichl (Cobourg, Ont.) and first-year outside hitter

• 2018 team scoring leader Caleb Seguin once again led the Lancers, scoring nine points from seven kills and two blocks.
