PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – The No. 14 ranked Durham College women's volleyball team rebounded from a loss earlier in the week with a 3-0 sweep over the Fleming Knights.
The Lords avoided back-to-back losses for the first time since 2015 with the straight sets victory, winning by scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 27-25.
Durham head coach
Tony Clarke had a chance to roll through his line up with 12 players seeing court time.
Erinn Marshall (Orillia, Ont.) ran the Lords' offence and had a season-high 23 assists to go along with five digs, two aces, one kill and one block.
Allyson Terwillegar (Enniskillen, Ont.) was efficient with ten kills on 22 attempts while
Jessica Joensen (Pickering, Ont.) had six kills and a game-high five aces.
Nicole Vandenheuvel (Whitby, Ont.) had four kills.
Although their offence was running on all cylinders, defence ended up being the difference maker. Seven Lords had two or more digs with
Devyn Fraser (Uxbridge, Ont.) and
Sarah Rayment (Whitby, Ont.) leading the way with 11 and nine respectively.
Durham is 3-1 on the year with their win over Fleming being the first in straight sets.
