WINDSOR, Ont. - Earning their first OCAA regular season win over the St. Clair Saints since October 2016, the Durham Lords baseball team picked up a split in their Saturday afternoon season opening series in Windsor, Ont.
The Lords bats were on fire in the opening game as five different Lords batters picked up an RBI in the decisive 7-1 victory.
St. Clair bounced back in the second game of the doubleheader, picking up a 7-1 victory of their own in the back half of the doubleheader.
The Lords will look to ride the wave of momentum in their victory over the defending champions as they make a stop in London, Ont. on the way back to Oshawa for another afternoon doubleheader. First pitch versus the Fanshawe Falcons is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Game 1

Reagan Manley led the way going 3-for-4 at the plate, scoring two RBI. Brendan Dadson,
Sam Cawker,
Max Mocon and
Griffin Oliver all earned one RBI.
• Garik Godard was 1-for-3 with the only RBI for the Saints.
Game 2
• Playing in the field for the second contest,
Alec Brown (Bowmanville, Ont.) picked up the lone RBI for the Lords, while going 2-for-3 in the batters box with a triple.
• Kevin Dion was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored to pace the Saints offence.
Game 1
• Veteran ace
Alec Brown pitched a complete game, allowing only three hits, while picking up six strikeouts in the seven-inning victory.
• Brown's victory was his eighth all-time in OCAA play for Durham College, which ties him with
Ilija Bozinovski and
Brodie Harkness for most all-time at Durham since OCAA baseball began in 2013.
• Micah Harris took the loss for St. Clair, giving up three earned runs on four hits and a walk over five innings.
Game 2
• Second-year standout
Brian Wowk (Oshawa, Ont.) took to the mound for Durham pitching 5.2 innings. Wowk struck out six Saints, but allowed seven earned runs in the outing. Veteran
Eric Beharri (Burlington, Ont.) appeared in relief.
• Garik Godard earned the victory for St. Clair, giving up only one earned fun over five innings on four hits. He finished with a day-high of eight strikeouts.
