Saints Women's Softball Beat Seneca Twice in Scarborough

Scarborough, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team (12-0) beat Seneca College (North York) by scores of 7-1 and 6-1 Friday night at L'Amoreaux Park in Scarborough beginning their busy weekend in good fashion. 

Jacklyn Yewchyn (Windsor, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) had three hits and drove in three runs for St. Clair in the game one win while catcher Julia Brusseau (Lakeshore, ON/St. Anne) added two singles. The Saints shared the pitching duties between starter Amy Claydon (Cambridge, ON), Rya Cowan (LaSalle, ON/Sandwich) and Allison Dufour (Amherstburg, ON/General Amherst) who collectively spread out four hits and gathered eight strikeouts. 

In game two shortstop Shae-Lyn Murphy (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) was a triple short of the cycle but had four hits in as many at bats which included a home run to go with three RBI's.  Claydon had a double and a triple with her two hits with Yewchyn singling twice while adding an RBI.  Dufour started the game for St. Clair but got help from Cowan and Claydon in relief. 

The Saints continue their weekend tour with two games against Durham College (Oshawa) on Saturday with game times of 1:00pm and 3:00pm.  The Saints then return home to host Mohawk College (Hamilton) on Sunday at the campus SportsPark diamond with game times of 2:00pm and 4:00pm.
