The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team played their home opener of their 2019-20 OCAA regular season when they hosted the Algonquin Thunder on Friday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre in Barrie.
It was a tough night for Georgian's women's team.
The Grizzlies found themselves in a deficit early and they weren't able to recover as they fell to the Thunder 70-28.
Kelsey Dunkeld (Barrie) had a season high nine points while rookie teammate Tamara Graham (Stayner) had seven points and six rebounds off the bench.
Both the men's and women's teams will play be back in action next Friday, Nov. 8 when they host the Seneca Sting at the Georgian Athletic Centre.
