Sting Shutout Cougars to Open Season

The Seneca Sting received multi-goal efforts from three players as the team opened the season with a 9-0 win over the Sault Cougars.

Sydnie Street opened the scoring just 15 seconds into the match, setting the tone for what would be a seven-goal first half for the reigning OCAA silver medallists.

Shanice Alfred scored her first of three markers in the 14' before adding goals in the 33' and 38'.

First year Michelle Covello joined the scoring parade in the 18' to give the Sting a 3-0 lead before Megan Aresanult netted back-to-back goals (22', 28') to give the Sting a 5-0 lead.

Following a pair of goals prior to halftime by Alfred, Olivia Lamacchia scored the lone Sting goals of the second half, getting on the scoresheet in both the 51' and 75'.

Raven Edwards-Dowdall and Caitlyn Adam shared the shutout for the Sting.
