Box Score BARRIE, Ont. – The Durham College women's volleyball team were mid-season form on Thursday night with a 3-0 sweep over the Georgian Grizzlies.
In a battle of the undefeated, the Lords dominated the match from start to finish winning by set scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-12.
With the win, Durham improves to 4-0 and are one of two teams in the OCAA east region that are undefeated. The Loyalist Lancers,
Tony Clarke's former team, are 2-0 to start the year and have two games this weekend. The Lords' undefeated record will be on the line on Thursday, Nov. 10 when the pair clash in Belleville.
Former Grizzlies
Erinn Marshall (Orillia, Ont.) and
Allison Marshall (Orillia, Ont.) paced the Lords' offence with eight and seven kills respectively.
Allison Marshall added four aces, bringing her career total with the Lords to 41.
OCAA athlete of the week
Shannon Dean (Whitby, Ont.) had another solid outing with eight kills, three blocks and one ace while
Lucia Kalmeyer (Oshawa, Ont.) registered seven kills and two blocks.
Dean and
Allison Marshall sit one-two in OCAA total aces this year with 19 and 14 respectively.
Megan Romain (Ajax, Ont.) had a team-high 28 assists and seven digs in the win.
Durham's next home action will be on Thursday, Nov. 17 against the Fleming Knights. First serve at the CRWC will be 6 p.m.
