No. 7 Fanshawe Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Lambton

(London, Ontario) – On Monday afternoon, the No. 7 nationally ranked Falcons (6-1-0) cruised to a 5-0 victory over the Lambton Lions (0-6-1) at home.

 

Ahmad Al Rajie (London, ON) got Fanshawe on the board in the 15th minute, beating his defender and placing the ball in the bottom left corner of the net. The Falcons extended their lead on a beautiful pass from Ben Vyfschaft (London, ON) to set up Dominic Szyszka (London, ON) for the finish. After the first half, the red and white held a 2-0 lead.

 

The Birds continued to control the game in the second 45 minutes. Fanshawe midfielder Jonathan Kam scored to make it 3-0. In the 59th minute, Vyfschaft netted another goal for the Falcons. Al Rajie chipped the ball over the Lambton keeper to score with a couple of minutes remaining to make it a 5-0 final. Fanshawe outshot the Lions 29-1 in the match and had 14 corners to Lambton's one.

 

The Falcons will travel to St. Clair (5-2-0) for their next match on Thursday, October 10.
