OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College Women's basketball team improved their record to 2-1 on the season after defeating the visiting St. Lawrence Vikings 69-59 on Friday night at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

The Lords defence once again proved vital in the victory as they scored 23 points off turnovers, forcing the Vikings into giving up the ball 36 times in the home matchup. Durham was also effective in the paint, outscoring St. Lawrence 38-18 down low.

DC will now begin a three game road swing which will start on Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Belleville when the Lords take on the Loyalist Lancers. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m., with the game being streamed on
OCAA LIVE.

Kendra Oliver (Ajax, Ont.) poured in a game-high 25 points for the Lords, including a 7-for-10 night at the free throw line.
• Fellow forward
Marie Stasiuk (Cobourg, Ont.) made it three straight games in a row hitting double-digit scoring, adding 13 more points for Durham.
• Three separate Vikings recorded double-digits on the night led by 17 from Melissa Gilligan off the bench.

• Both Oliver and Stasiuk registered double-doubles on the night, grabbing 12 and 10 rebounds, respectively. Oliver added three assists and an incredible seven steals, while Stasiuk also notched four assists and two steals.
• Kassie DeWolfe pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds in the loss for the Vikings.
