(London, Ontario) – On Saturday evening at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre, the Fanshawe Men's Volleyball team (1-1) won 3-0 over Boréal (0-1).

In set one, Fanshawe took an early lead with a kill and service ace by fourth-year Mitch McFadden (St. Paul's, ON). Rookie Ewan Mason (London, ON) had a couple of strong serves for the Falcons to extend their lead to 18-8. The Birds would take the first set by a score of 25-11.

The teams traded points in the second set until Fanshawe started to pull away on yet another service ace, this time from London native Elliott Leslie. Boréal made a push towards the end of the set, but Ian Talbot (London, ON) would put an end to the set with back-to-back points. The Falcons won set two 25-18.

A huge kill from first-year outside hitter Luke Blissett (London, ON) got the home team rolling in set three. McFadden then went off for three straight kills to extend Fanshawe's lead to 16-7 midway through the set. Despite their best efforts, Boréal could not recover and the Falcons won the final set 25-10 to sweep the match. McFadden finished with a game-high 12 points.
