PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – The Durham College men's volleyball team had to work hard on Saturday afternoon to close out a straight sets victory over the Fleming Knights.
 
The Lords picked up 25-22 and 25-21 victories to open the match, but the third set went overtime as they earned a 31-29 decision to give them their second straight 3-0 victory.

After starting the year with two losses, Durham is back to the .500 mark with wins over Loyalist and Fleming. Their next match will come on Thursday night at home against the Seneca Sting who are off to a 1-4 start.
 
Harrison Wood (Uxbridge, Ont.) could not be stopped up the middle on Saturday as he had 14 kills, four blocks and two aces.
 
Tyler Krabi (Stouffville, Ont.) ended up leading the team in blocks with five to go along with seven kills. Lucas Pichl (Cobourg, Ont.) had one of his best matches of the season with eight kills, two blocks and an ace.
 
Durham setter Rory Langley (Uxbridge, Ont.) ended the match with 30 assists and 10 digs. Wesley Armstrong (Port Perry, Ont.) and Luke Fafard (Dauphin, Ont.) also had big games defensively with nine and eight digs respectively.
 
The win marked George Matsusaki's 99th overall as head coach of the Lords, after taking over the program from Andrew Hinchey five years ago.
