No. 10 Falcons Remain Unbeaten in Men’s Soccer

(London, Ontario) – At Fanshawe College on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon, the No. 10 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Men's Soccer squad (3-0-0) defeated the Conestoga Condors (1-2-0) by a score of 6-0. Fanshawe is currently on a 10 game regular season unbeaten streak.

The Falcons started the match pressuring the Condors defense early. A nice cross by outside midfielder Ryan Baker (Strathroy, ON) connected with fourth-year teammate Michael Sneddon (Mount Brydges, ON) in the 11th minute to give Fanshawe a 1-0 advantage. Tomas Alvarez (London, ON) then received a through ball from Engjell Qamili (London, ON), and dribbled around the Conestoga goalkeeper to make the score 2-0. Baker would notch his second assist of the game on a pass to Brandon Mendes (London, ON) in the 34th minute to give the red and white a 3-0 lead going into half time.

Fanshawe continued where they left off in the second half, as Armin Hajdarpasic (London, ON) found the back of the net for his first goal in a Falcon uniform. Local rookie striker Jalen Loague extended the home team's lead, beating the Conestoga keeper to make it 5-0. Loague would net his second of the game on an exceptional strike in the 69th minute, as the Falcons would go on to win 6-0. The Fanshawe squad currently leads the OCAA in goals against, with zero.

Fanshawe will next travel to Kitchener on Friday, October 1 for a re-match against Conestoga.
