(London, Ontario) – On Saturday afternoon at Fanshawe, the No. 5 nationally ranked Falcons (2-1) recorded a 5-0 win against the Redeemer Royals (0-3).

A brilliant top-corner strike from outside the 18-yard box by Fanshawe's Stefan Rozek (London, ON) put the home team up 1-0 early in the match. The Falcons continued to control game play, as a diving save from the Redeemer keeper stopped a shot from Joseph Willingham-Murphy (London, UK). Willingham-Murphy followed that with an excellent strike that hit the crossbar. Despite the Falcons having a 13-2 shot advantage and six corner kicks in the first half, the Royals held on and the score was 1-0 after 45 minutes.

In the second half, Fanshawe poured on the pressure. Striker Ahmad Al Rajie (London, ON) beat his defender and drew a penalty kick for the Birds. Teammate Mike Sneddon (Mount Brydges, ON) would score on the penalty to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. In the 58th minute, Al Rajie found the back of the net himself to make the score 3-0. A volleying cross from Willingham-Murphy then set up Ben Vyfschaft (London, ON) for a goal in the 65th minute. A nice through ball from Dominic Szyszka (London, ON) sent Vyfschaft in and he set up rookie striker Malachi Morris (Tillsonburg, ON) for one last goal in the final minute. Fanshawe took the victory by a score of 5-0.

In a week's time, the Falcons will take the pitch versus the Mohawk Mountaineers (1-1) in Ancaster.
