(London, Ontario) – At Fanshawe Athletics annual Falcons Fest event on Saturday, the Falcons Men's Volleyball team (6-7) were defeated by the top team in the nation, Humber (13-0) in three sets.

Fanshawe was in tough against the talented Hawks, falling behind early in the set. The Falcons were able to stay within reach with kills from Daniel Ridings (St. Catharines, ON) and Mike Liscumb (Ilderton, ON). Unfortunately, Humber's high-powered offense exposed Fanshawe's youth and the home team fell 25-16 in set one.

In the second set, the Falcons stepped up their game with a great dig from Justin Rulli-Levere (Beamsville, ON) that resulted in a kill from Ewan Mason (London, ON). That was followed by a left side hit from hometown product Luke Blissett that gave the red and white a 12-11 lead. The Hawks came out strong after their timeout and went on to take set two 25-18 despite Fanshawe's best efforts.

Humber used their momentum to carry them to a 25-16 third set win and ultimately a 3-0 victory over the red and white. The top performer for the Falcons was Ridings with nine points. Liscumb moved up to second in all-time Fanshawe Men's Volleyball blocks with a total of 94.

The Falcons will look to regroup in their next match on Wednesday, January 29, when they travel to St. Clair (6-6) to face the Saints.
