OSHAWA, ON - Returning to form in front of a home crowd at Vaso's Field on Wednesday night, the Durham College women's team defeated to Centennial Colts 1-0.
Following a tough road loss in Kingston the week prior, the Lords bounced back as they once again dominated possession over the visitors from Centennial similar to their season opening victory over Loyalist. DC put the pressure to the Colts in the opening half, registering seven shots in goal in the first 45 minutes compared to just one for the visitors.
These chances led the the Lords lone goal of the game when first-year midfielder
Heather Arnott (Whitby, ON) delivered on her scoring chance in the 13th minute.
The second half was a little closer in action, with both teams recording seven shots on goal, but the Lords back line and starting keeper
Nikki Bradshaw (Newtonville, ON) picked up the clean sheet in the 1-0 victory.
The Lords will now hit the road as they travel to Peterborough to challenge the Fleming Knights this Saturday, Oct. 2. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. in the afternoon outing.
