OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College women's soccer team moved one step closer to locking up third place in the OCAA east region after a 6-1 victory over the St. Lawrence Vikings.
The match was a complete 180 from their previous meeting in Kingston where the two teams played to a scoreless draw.
Durham (5-3-2) is six points ahead of Fleming (3-5-2) for third place in the region with each team having two games remaining. The two will meet up in their regular season finale on Wed. Oct. 18 in Peterborough.
The Lords jumped out to a 4-0 first half lead over the Vikings with freshman
Natassha Hassenstein (Oshawa, Ont.) scoring a natural hat-trick with goals at the 11, 24 and 35 minute marks.
Milinda Roblero (Pickering, Ont.) scored the opening goal of the match just seven minutes into the contest.

Hassenstein leads the Lords with nine goals this season, as she moves into the top ten of OCAA scoring. Roblero and Hassenstein have scored at least a goal in their last three matches.
St. Lawrence's Taylor Halladay would score the opening goal of the second half but Durham would strike back with two of their own to win by a final score of 6-1. Roblero notched her second of the night in the 66th minute followed by
Cory Lapointe's (Whitby, Ont.) fifth goal of the year with five minutes remaining.
Durham dominated in shots holding the Vikings to just four. Durham ended up with 19 of their own, 13 of which were on target.
The Lords will look to clinch third place on Saturday with a road game against the Loyalist Lancers that kicks off at 1 p.m. In their first meeting in Oshawa, Durham beat the Lancers by a score of 8-0.
