Box Score NORTH BAY, Ont. – The Durham College women's volleyball team rolled to a 3-1 victory on Sunday to open conference play against the Canadore Panthers.
Durham won the opening set handily, 25-13; before a closer 25-20 second set win.
In the third the Panthers clawed back edging the Lords 25-23.
After their hiccup in the third, Durham had a more positive fourth as they dominated the Panthers 25-11 to open the season with a 3-1 victory.
Allison Marshall (Orillia, Ont.) led the Lords with 14 kills, 12 digs and eight services, while adding a block.
Shannon Dean (Whitby, Ont.) led Durham with three blocks, alongside her 13 kills and five aces.
First-year player
Jessica Joensen (Pickering, Ont.) picked up 11 digs, while adding three kills.
Durham now returns home for their home opener this Friday night against the Algonquin Thunder. First serve in the women's match is 6 p.m. at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
