OAKVILLE – No. 2 Humber men's volleyball extended its win streak to three-straight matches to begin the season, picking up a straight-set victory over the Sheridan Bruins (0-4, 9th West) Sunday afternoon at Trafalgar Campus. The Hawks picked up the win by set scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 29-27.

The Hawks got straight to work in the opening set of their match against the Sheridan Bruins, holding the lead for the majority of the set. Third-year setter Jake Gomes took control of the game from the service line, as he nailed down eight consecutive serves for Humber and forced Sheridan to use both of its time outs. Giving little opportunity for the Bruins to compete offensively, the Hawks soared to a quick victory, 25-13.

Sheridan kept the Humber Hawks on their toes throughout the second and third set, as the teams remained within two points of each other for the rest of the match. Neither team was able to achieve a stable lead as both teams stayed disciplined to their defence, minimizing the ability to earn easy points. Without much room for error, freshman Joshua Fadare nailed down back-to-back kills as the Hawks forced themselves into the lead near the end of both sets. After an intense back and forth effort, Humber pushed past the Bruins to win both sets 25-20 and 29-27.

Joshua Fadare led the Humber Hawks with nine kills and two digs, followed by Eduardo Silva Ferreira with eight kills and four digs.
