MEN'S VOLLEYBALL WIN SIXTH STRAIGHT GAME
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team defeated the Canadore Panthers on Tuesday in straight sets 3-0 in North Bay.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team travelled to face the Canadore Panthers on Tuesday night in North Bay, ON.
Georgian's men's team continued to roll with an impressive performance as the Grizzlies won in straight sets 3-0 with set scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-23.
Jake Edwards (Barrie) led the team with 11 kills while Darien Haynes (Barrie) had seven kills along with two blocks.
Liam Gray (Barrie) had an assist on just over one-third of all of Georgian's points with 26. Gray was named OCAA men's volleyball athlete of the week for his efforts last week and he continues to lead the entire OCAA in assists-per-set with 10.1.
The Grizzlies are now 15-1 and have already locked up first place in the east division standings. The team continues to prepare for the 2018 OCAA Men's Volleyball Championship which will be hosted by Georgian Feb. 22-24.
Georgian wrap up their regular seasons this weekend when they travel to Ottawa to play the Algonquin Thunder on Saturday followed by the La Cite Coyotes on Sunday.
