KITCHENER – No. 2 Humber men's volleyball snapped No. 15 Conestoga Condors (6-2, 3rd West) three-game winning streak Saturday afternoon, 3-1. The final scores were 23-25, 26-24, 25-14, and 25-18.
Andrew Blakey got Humber heated up right off the bat, earning the first point of the game with a huge block from the middle. The Condors were quick to respond though, as both teams were soon trading the lead as they crawled up the scoreboard. Third-year libero Rady Kim kept Humber within reach throughout the tight set, as the energy in the crowd made it easy for the Condors to keep their momentum and continue to swing hard. As Conestoga began slipping away with the lead, Humber Coach Wayne Wilkins called the first timeout of the game at 17-19. The crowd continued to fuel Conestoga as they pushed their two-point lead to a victory at 23-25.
Humber began to buckle down as they entered the second and third set, taking control of the game from the service line with a team season-high of 10 aces collectively. Kills by Maximum Crowder and Joshua Fadare began to raise the teams' momentum on the court, as the Conestoga gym had everyone on the edge of their seats. Continuing to maximize their offence, the Hawks swept the second and third set at 26-24 and 25-14.
Humber carried their success into the final set, as they quickly earned a four-point advantage and pushed the Condors into an early timeout. Both teams displayed some of the best OCAA men's volleyball has to offer, as Conestoga continued to put pressure on the Hawks lead. Kills by Joshua Fadare bounced over the competition head and left Conestoga's defence and the crowd stunned, creating a comfortable eight-point lead for Humber. Jake Gomes took the Hawks to victory with a five-point service run that brought the score to 23-17. The set was finalized at 25-18.
Rrezart Sadiku led the Hawks with a season-best, consisting of 18 kills, four aces, and a block. Freshman Joshua Fadare also hit a career-best within the game, earning 18 points off of 15 kills and four blocks.
Humber Highlights
- After nailing two more aces down against Conestoga, Jake Gomes sits sixth in program history for all-time career aces, with 68 in total.
- Rady Kim played his best game this season defensively, earning 10 digs in the match.
- With this win, the Hawks continue to lead the OCAA in kills per set, improving to 12.12

The Hawks will complete their weekend on the road in Windsor, against the St. Clair Saints. Game time is set for Nov 24 at 1 p.m.
