OSHAWA, Ont. – On a day celebrating the Durham College women's softball graduating seniors, the Lords walked away with a split.
In their first extra-inning game of the year, the Lords earned a 4-3 victory in the ninth inning, followed by a 4-1 loss to the Falcons to end their season at home.
Following the doubleheader, Durham recognized their five graduating seniors with a brief ceremony. This year's graduates include
Alanna Stanoev (Whitby, Ont.),
Ashley Black (Waterloo, Ont.),
Caleigh Coels (Duncan, B.C.),
Sarah Seifried (Drayton, Ont.) and
Emily Glendinning (Plattsville, Ont.).
Pending results on Sunday, the Lords could clinch their spot at the OCAA championship, which will be hosted by the Conestoga Condors in Kitchener from October 19-20.

Courtney McKellar (Alvinston, Ont.) led Durham going 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.
• Lords runs were scored by McKellar,
Caleigh Coels,
Madigan McGhee (Ajax, Ont.) and
Kaitlyn Hickey (Oshawa, Ont.)
• Both Fanshawe and Durham scored in the eighth inning of the extra-inning game.
Game 2
• McKellar continued to read the Fanshawe pitchers well, going 2-for-2 and scoring the Lords only run.
• Emily Davis was 2-for-4 from the plate, driving in one of Fanshawe's runs and scoring once.
Game 1

Ashley Black pitched all nine innings for the Lords, allowing two earned runs on only three hits, while striking out six.
• Jacey Lochert took the loss for the Falcons in relief, allowing two runs on two hits.
Game 2
• The loss went to
Emily Glendinning, who threw the complete game, allowing four earned runs on nine hits and three walks. She struck out six.
• Nicole Erb picked up the complete game victory, allowing only one earned run on six hits and three walks, while striking out a doubleheader-high nine batters.
